is it possible to get just a frame from a gun maker? such as just an X-frame and possibly a blank barrel? i was thinking of getting a cylinder made for me and such, just wondered if i was possible to get parts and not whole guns.

No.

They aren't going to sell a frame (well..to the governement, a frame IS a gun...it's the serial numbered part, so it counts as a gun and all rules apply). You'll pretty well have to wait until someone trashes one, and then buy the remains.

Pretty easy to get new semi-auto frames for some makes...but that's not what your questiuon was about.

So far as I can tell, S7W revolver frames are pretty much factory installed on a repair basis.

I've seen frames only for sale on gunbroker, and parts guns that the frame might be salvaged from. But these are very much used at best and it's hard to tell how much abuse they've had. But they usually go pretty cheap...
