i was just wondering what the best choke and barrel legnth is for regulation trap shooting.

it would have to be for use on my pump rem-870

i currently use it with a 30inch full choke, but i think the full choke is hurting me.... i'm going to buy a nice under and over for when i get into skeet, but for now im gonna keep using this gun for trap and just change out the barrel, it takes under 15 seconds to do..

i use modified on my un-single trap and improved/modified with my double barrel for clays.but a full/mod would also work well.thats the good thing with choke tubes, work with them to find a good set-up.

Depends how fast you swing and shoot. I like to swing through targets and don't use a sustained lead; modified is fine for me from the 16 yard line. Full choke really crunches 'em when I've used it.

If your 870 has a fixed choke contact wright's at 618-357-8933 and have a "Herb Orre" choke put in it. You just tell them what yardage and they will do a custom choke. It runs about 100.00 It jumped my score.. was 96 average...now 98. Rick L.
