I'm trying to buy a small but very nice gun collection that belonged to an uncle whose father worked for Winchester back in the 20's and 30's. It consists of M-12's, M-67's, a M-62A, M-68's and M-61's. There is a M-92 that I would appreciate some advise on.

It is a Model 92- Sporting Rifle(takedown) with full octagon barrel in 25-20, Serial# 883XX. The gun is VG to Excellent condition, well cared for and shot little. The values that I've seen on this gun have a very wide range.

What is the fair market value for this gun? Thanks

Over here 92's in shootable condition start at AU$250 and go up to maybe $600 for somthing a bit special which yours sounds like. This won't mean much to you if your in the USA though.

Looks like the rifle was made in 1894. http://armscollectors.com/sn/winlookup.php

I have no idea of the market value of the rifle.
