The dealer I bought VV N140 from is no longer going to carry VV powders. He claims they're a big PITA to deal with, and he has a hard time with their $10,000 minimum order.

So, what might I use to replace the N140 powder? Varget comes to mind for .223 Rem and .308 Win loads, but I'm open to suggestions from those that know more than me (which is just about everybody on this forum). I'm looking for Class F and Service Rifle highpower competition level accuracy out to 300, not benchrest level. I don't have the hardware for BR shooting (yet).

Varget is moderately popular for the Palma shooters (.308 out to 1,000 yards). Don't know what the hot thing is with the .223 currently.....

If you're wanting to stay with a stick powder, The Hodgdon Varget will be a fine choice. IMR 4320 is always a good ol' standby and the Alliant RL15 would be a good choice, too.

I'm using accurate 2230 for my 222 It was actually developed for the 223
it even says right on the label developed for 223 and excellent for 222 to 308. works good for my stuff and it's offers good velocity. Just loaded some 3700 fps 40 gr loads for the 222. Have not gotten to check the accuracy on this batch yet ....
