About a year ago and after reading several articles on the 411, I ordered one and was placed on a waiting list. About one month ago, one arrived at one of the shops I use and I pruchased it quickly because of the number of the people on the list behind me.

I just got around to shooting this side by side yesterday and was really tickled with how well it handles and shoots. The finish is outstanding... just really pleased with the firearm and my old pump is going to be lonely come dove season.

If you want to truly enhance your dove shooting experience, use black powder shotshells. With easy to load paper casings that double will give you the deep throated roar of black powder and the wonderful clouds of acrid white smoke.

I use once fired Federal paper hulls (these are getting hard to find so new primed Cheddite paper hulls from Graf and Sons should be a good alternative.) I load these with card and felt wads on an old Lyman EZ Loader using Lee dippers for the powder. I simply use a fold crimp for ease of loading and because the loader is set up for fold crimping. I also use paper hulls to make certain none of my black powder loads ever make it into my gas operated autoloaders. If its paper hulled its loaded with black powder.

The breech loader will leave your hands and clothing clean and that double is a cinch to clean with the barrels removed. You may even bag a few doves!

You don't have to have a vintage damascus barrel double to enjoy black powder shotshells.

I also ordered one as soon as I saw it introduced. For the price, I wasn't expecting great wood, but it it has it, all the better.
I hoped to have it by dove season but haven't heard from them yet.

Wow, I didn't realize they had discontinued it already. I have a 411 12 gauge that has been my waterfowling gun for several seasons. It's basically the same gun as a Remington Spartan or a Baikal, and their manuals are available on line.
