I'm interested to know if it's possible to get slugs for a 10 gauge. This might seem like a crazy idea, but where I do most of my pig hunting they allow shotgun only. In California you cannot use buckshot on game, so I am pretty much limited to slugs. I can imagine the recoil, but am a pretty big guy (6'1", 280 #), and shoot 12 gauge 3" slugs quite regularly. The reason I'm interested in a 10 gauge is because my father recently gave me a 10 gauge over under. Am I asking too much of this, or is this load actually available. If not available commercially, is there anyone I can contact privately for this? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Will have to check...I'm not getting any listings on the "easy" sites...will try somne of the more obsure ones. Seems like I do remember a 10ga. slug from someone.

I think you might be able to load James Gates' Dixie Terminator Slugs in a 10ga shotcup like a sabot for an awesome 10bore slug load!
Shotgun Bore Diameters:
10-Gauge = Bore Diameter of .775 inches
12-Gauge = Bore Diameter of .729 inches
The Terminators are .729" diameter for fully rifled 12ga barrels, but if you load them into 10bore cups, you might find they're a good fit, depending on the choke of the barrels. There's a little over 1mm, or 0.045" difference between the slug diameter and 10ga bore diameter.
James has also furnished these in pure lead for the guys shooting the Kodiak Big Bore doubles (72 caliber)...

The Terminator is a 750gr hard cast slug with a 1/2" meplat and is designed for dangerous game like big hogs!
GOOD LUCK! ;)

Better still.......Get a Remington 12 ga 3" 870 Express with a rifled barrel and use our Terminator......why? The Terminator and Terminator Express are loaded with a 740 gr hard cast-heat treated slug that will make a swaged pure lead slug, whatever the gauge, look puny. The more velocity you push these soft factory lead slugs, the more expansion and less penetration.......Best Regards, James.

What are you gonna use for targeting on that o/u with slugs?? As far as the slugs themselves---my opinion is that a 12ga slug(especially the makeup of the Terminator) will do anything that a 10ga storebought slug will do.---pruhdlr
