While generating the idea of building a 25 caliber wildcat I had many considerations. Obviously if you’ve read my previous post I settled on the hottest of the bunch by selecting the 257 STW. While lying in my bed listening to the sounds of both incoming and outgoing mortar shots I dreamt up the idea of a 25 SAUM. Has anyone considered this cartridge or had on built? My gunsmith says it has been done and produces a very flat shooting round; hotter than the 257 Weatherby yet slower than the STW. My question with this configuration is overbore pressures. Any feedback is welcome. God bless the coalition.

There are some boys over at 24hr that have built 257 WSMs, which should offer a little more capacity than the SAUM. They're reporting velocities very near, but not quite besting the Weatherby.
