i recently purchased a ziess diasta 8x52 scope(no windage adjustment) off ebay.
it has the original claw mount system soldered to the bell and rear of the 26mm tube.
i wish to mount it to my tikka t3 (6.5x55) but do not want to solder mounts to my rifle (picture of this system attached...hopefully).
i was wondering if i could use 26mm rings and bases and remove the soldered original mounts but unsure if this is possible or if the newer 'windageadjustable' bases would be too crude to zero in the rifle(no internal scope adjustment)
any suggestions/adviceleads would be greatly appreciated.
regards,paul

Agree...contact NECG (or other shop...will have to run a good net-search). HAve managed to zero a rifle with just the Leupold rear mount for windage....it's a fustrating ping-pong match of going too far one way, then the other, but it can be done. Does make you really-really want to stay with the one-rifle-one-load philosophy of hunting.
