With the hard factory butt pad, my 44mag Trapper slips on my shoulder too much when I work the lever. I'd like to put a rubber pad on the gun to grip the shoulder better.

Can anyone recommend a good recoil pad for the Trapper? Thanks. adk

Try a cheap slip on one from the K or Wal stores first and see if you need anything better latter ! I have and still use them ! JAGG

Good idea. I checked the dimensions of the size small Pachmayr slip-on = 1.5 x 4.85. The gun is 1.49 x 4.72. Just right. I'll pick one up. Thanks. adk

I picked up the size Small Pachmayr and it's a perfect fit on the Trapper. Thanks for the idea. adk

if I may add one suggestion, over at Sportman's Guide they sell a nothing-fancy Beartooth brand which slips over the stock, $15. Spongy material, a universal fit.

It has several insertable foam pads of varying thickness to make the cushion as thin or thick as you prefer. I use one of these on every rifle I have, and even after more than 500 rounds through my Ruger Mini-14 there is no discomfort whatsoever.

Cheers,
