Just surfed on gang and thought I would throw out a feeler as to who on the forum shoots a .284Win. Mine is a rebarreled 788 Remington in a MPI glass stock, 22.5" Alpine barrel, action is flutted and the bolt knob is flattened like a Browning A-Bolt, scoped with a Leupold 3 to 9 compact, weighs in at 7.25lbs. with sling and 3 rounds of ammo. Pushes 139gr. Hornady Boattails at just under 3100fps. groups this load into 5/8" to 3/4" all day long, sometimes when the nut behind the bolt does his part the groups get sub 1/2".

Your .284 Win sounds very similar to my 7RM with the same bullet and chrono'd velocity.

I shoot a 284 built on a mauser action with a Douglas barrel.Shoots 140gr. Sierras at about 3075fps.After 30yrs.accuracy is starting to go.No problem,I have a new Douglas barrel in my shop to fit.Love this caliber.

My .284 is an A-Bolt Hunter. Won't shoot for beans with the 150 gr. factory load but absolutely loves the old discontinued 125 gr. load, which is pure poison on deer. Never had one leave its tracks with it. After my supply runs out I'll try loading the 130 gr. Speer and hope for similar results.
