Does any manufacturer make a truly all weather semi-auto shot-gun? I took my Remington 1100 Dove hunting last year when a hurricaine was sittinig just off of the coast. It was a light, but constant rain for 4 days. When I broke my 1100 down to clean it, the internal action parts were rusted pretty badly. This situation does not occur often, but I am looking for an excuse to buy another shot-gun anyway.
Does anyone have any thoughts about this?

Maybe have your shotgun broken down and TiN coated, every part...

Don't know much about this one, but its supposed to hold up in a marine environment a bit better.

Problem with a semi-auto is what you had, there are a lot of nooks, crannies, and plumbing for water to run into.

Maybe disassemble and wax everything next time? Dunno.....

I bought my 1100 pre-rusted, if you will, and it's less of a concern for me, LOL....

Haven't seen any commercial rust proof shotguns...can find rust resistant (including stainless steel) but haven't fond one that's 100% rust proof. Stainless is pretty resistant, but don't you dare believe it's rust proof...some plates surfaces do very well so long as the plating is 100% intack (and not all parts ae usually plated).

Stainless is the best we can do right now...at least when you finially get it to rust, you won't have to refinish it after you remove the rust.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I have the all weather Red Label and it has been great. I finally decided to bite the bullet (sorry, shell) though and have the whole thing Second Skinned in Advantage as this shotgun has become my primary turkey gun, shooting every bit as well as my two 870 Super Mags and doing it with only 3 inch shells.
The newer all weathers can be had with the target gray finish so they are not near as flashy as the older SS guns like the one I have.
