Nosler Ballistic Tip comes in a .30 cal, 125 grain version. They are surprisingly tough, at least for a Ballistic Tip, and very accurate of course.
Put one through two javelinas once, at short range, by accident. Not a Cape Buffalo, but pretty stout little creatures.
Remington has factory-loaded 125 grain 'reduced recoil' (or something like that) loads.
Believe there are some other 110 and 125 grain bullets, but the Noslers are all I have used in the .30-06.

I have loaded the Hornady 110 gr Sp #3010 in 30.06 but I have not worked up a load yet. I have loaded the 125 gr Nosler BT in the .308 and am currently using it as a deer round. Light recoil and reasonably accurate. I have no deer results yet but it sure makes a mess of an 8-10 pound raccon at about 15 yds.

I am looking for something loaded. The reduced recoil Remington seems very weak down range.
What about the Rem. Acccelerators? Will the feed in an autoloader?

Remington makes a .30-06 Managed Recoil round using a 125 gr bullet. Very soft shooting. Shot some last weekend alongside some 154 gr 'regular' loads. Plan on taking my 11 yr. old daughter to the range this weekend and let her shoot them.
Federal also makes a reduced recoil load, but it shoots a 170 gr bullet. Haven't tried those yet.

Curious about that Aussie Winchester load. They don't list one on their website, but Federal has a high velocity 125 grain load and Remington has both the Reduced recoil and a high velocity 125 grain load listed.

What do you mean by a light 125gr load i don't know of any hard recoiling 125gr loads in a 30/06 or in any other 30cals. ? What do you need this for , hunting ,what and how far ? There are factory loads , but may not be in stock at times !JAGG

Want to use something in my older Remington 742 that wont beat it to death. Still want to be able to take a whitetail or hog at less than 200yards. The E.Tx. or Southern Ark. deer are fairly small.
I'd say the factory 150 gr load should be just about perfect for your needs. Probably be a lot more accurate out of your Mod 742 than the light weight 125 gr will be, as the 742's originally were built with a rate of twist to stabilize the 180 grainers for brushy country close-in hunting.
