My gun is about 12 years old. Never had a problem until now. I bought a Hasting Paradox replacement slug barrle last November. Shot several rounds throught it no problem. This year I take it out to sight in 15 rounds, 7 misfires and I am not talking click and no bang, rack a round in and nothing. Just like I never moved the action. Shell goes in fine ejects fine. I was using litefield and Winchester Sabots. Took it to a gunsmith, he says firing pin is bad. That dont explain why the hammer never fell. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. :( Also would like advice on what ammo this barrle likes. I cant get good groups at 50 yards. Ready to send barrel back. Had better groups with smooth tube/ improved cylinder. Thank you in advance

pull the trigger group out of the gun, safety off pull the trigger,if it works than it sounds like its a slide lock problem.if it does not work than check the trigger assembly it self, there should be two leggs that are riveted to the trigger,is the sear spring there?than make sure the long arm of the trigger is above the slide lock, when you push the slide lock (from the rear)up,the long arm should go up,disconecting the trigger from releasing the sear.

Well the gunsmith says It could be the trigger assembly, could be the slide lock, blah blah blah. I was going to swap triggers with a 20 gauge 870 express I have. It fits the 12, do you think thats o.k to do? If gun works than I need a new trigger assembly if not they I will buy the new slide lock and go from there. I already got sucked into a firing pin I dont think I needed. That was $40.00 Trigger assembly is $70.00 slide lock is $25.00 I am also going to put the factory barrel back on and see if that corrects the problem. Let me know about trigger swap If possible. Thanks in advance.

The trigger swap is possible, and a good way to check out the problem, if it works, then go from there. if it works, then it isn't the slide lock.
