Just wondered if anyone has tried a new Rem Spartan. Can view at www.spartangunworks.com. Price seems right but may be cheap verses economical. Are they even on shelves yet?

I've seen the ads. Wondering where they are made - guess is Russia or Turkey.

Would like to see them in person, myself.

Taking a good look at that fore arm's shape and the way the butt stock wood connects to the reciever, believe they are made in Russia.

It says right on the page in your link, "We found the answer in a centralized Russian city. It's a place where skilled craftsmen painstakingly create top-quality break-action guns...one at a time."

Looks like a direct competitor for NEF and H&R. Funny that Remington didn't at least make them change their choke tube system to the Rem-Choke.

I read somewhere else that EAA let its contract with Baikel (Russia) lapse, and Remington picked up the option. The West Laramie Fly Store (locally owned outdoor store) tells me that the Baikels have sold like hotcakes ever since they started stocking them.
