Anyone have any experience with the Maverick 88

combat shotguns ( 8 shots - 20"bbl)

I want something I can leave safe locked in a vacation

home! Also interested in the winchester camp defender

but I would like to save a little money if the Mav/Mossberg

is dependable!

Thanks everyone! :D

as long as the forearm is the double arm design the maverick is as strong as the moss.same gun budget model, the single arm is there downfall, they break easy.moss/mav is changing that.parts from one will work in eather, not bad for the money.

One thing you might want to consider is the location of the safety. If I recall correctly, the M1300 is a crossbolt located at the front of the trigger guard. This, in my opinion, is the quickest and most positive safety for a shotgun (or rifle, if any have this feature). The "tang" mounted safety on the Mossberg I owned was mounted very high up on the receiver and the hand had to be moved a long way out of position to engage the safety.

Good point Kanuck! Any other scatterguns or reasonable price you might reccommend?

Anyone?!

Thanks! r

I have the Mossy 590 a1...it's almost too much shotgun for HD. You can definetely tell it was designed for LE/CQB use...

Here's a real poser pic of the gun. I have added a CAR stock to it; it came with Mossy's synthetic.

Greetings all, this being my first post I hope that you'll excuse some of my ignorance.
That picture is EXACTLY what I want. I was wondering if you could post for me the exact specs of what it is exactly that you did to that. I fail to understand how the stock of the riffle comes off so that you can put the CAR stock on there... Im looking at getting an AR-15, but that would be much more desirable. And affordable.

Greetings.
The shotgun pictured is a Mossberg 590A1
I have another one of those grip devises if you are interested.
You simply take off the buttstock pad and loosten the screw that is deep inside the stock with a long screwdriver.
I would be willing to part with the adaptor devise, with the pistol grip and collapsable stockif you wish to own it.

Maverick 88 safety is also in front of the trigger guard.

If you really want to get carried away, a Maverick trigger assembly could be installed in a Mossberg 500 for dual safties. I doubt anyone would want dual safeties, but it is possible.
