The heading should read 338-350.

I've been kicking this around for a while, what I am tring to come up with is a light, short action rifle that can wear a 22"
to 24" barrel and can be used for most anything in North America and as I'm a big fan of the 350 Rem mag and 338 bullets it should be a perfect match. Ballistics should be a little better then the 338-06 with less rifle weight.

Been there done that. LOL :p  338-350rem./338 Ozark Mag/22 inch barrel / Rem Model 7 action. (200 grn Speer /2850 fps)(225 Nos PAR/2650 fps) I get 2.5 inches off hand@ 100yds. Also it smacks Bambi like a runaway train..(Dropped in his tracks mid-step) :D ;)

My dies are RCBS Custom shop, came with my rifle. The loads I have worked up are as follows. ( 200grn Speer/57grns-IMR 4064/CCI 250= 2850fps)(225 Nos PAR/56grns-IMR 4064/CCI 250=2650fps) I loaded this for elk hunting and like the CCI250's for plenty of fire in sub-zero temps. Accurate 2520 also showed some promise in fire forming stage but havent tried it again yet. You should drop 2-3 grains and work back up. Recomend using a chrono belted cases can get expensive with high pressure expantion. ;)

You can also get identical ballistics from the 338/284 as I am running the same velocity from a light weight Browning A-Bolt that I built....
