Hello!
I'm new here, but I've really enjoyed reading over your forum. I had been looking for a Winchester '92 (Miroku) short rifle in .45 Colt for awhile. I finally found one a couple of weeks ago. It has a 24" round barrel with full length magazine tube, and roll engraved game scenes (buck & doe on left side of receiver, and antelope on right side). I'm not crazy about roll engraving, but it looks almost new, and I got it at a good price. The serial number is NT08xx.
My questions are: was it made in 1997 or 2002, and was it a 1 of 5000 production run? Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome. I edited out the last two digits of the serial number, to help protect your privacy.
Can't answer your question but there are surely some people who can.....
Congrats on your new toy!

I recently purchased a Miroku 1892, but I was not aware that any were ever made with a 24 inch barrel. 18 inch in round and 20 inch in octagonal are still listed on Winchester's website. Also, I'm no expert, but does a 24 inch barrel even count as a "short rifle"?

DH,
Congratulations on your new '92. They're nice guns. Mine has the cresent shaped butt plate and no barrel band, so it's the short rifle configuration, despite the 24" barrel. The flat butt plate and barrel band is the carbine configuration.

Hmm...mine has cresent shaped butt plate, 16 inch round barrel, and a barrel band.
I assume it's an SRC?

20" round barrel with barrel bands = carbine
20" octagon barrel with foreend cap & mag tube hanger = short rifle
24" octagon barrel with foreend cap & mag tube hanger = rifle
I also have Miroku/Winchester 24" round barrel rifle with foreend cap & mag tube hanger.

Thanks for the clarification Jim! Didn't think anything 24" would be called short.

Thanks for the info. That's what I thought too. I think you'll really like yours.
I changed ISP's awhile back and went with Road Runner, and had to re-register to get back on the forum. That's why I'm answering under a different login.

I also have a High Grade 92 Like yours but, mine is in 44-40.
I have one seen 1 other like it and it was a heck of alot more than I paid for mine. I heard that the 44-40 92's were a limited (200) run meant for Europe. Anyone have any more info and them to share ? TIA
