Anybody have any stories on game taken here in FL yet this year? I know that the south zone has started into archery and here in the central it starts this weekend. Let's hear from guys that have taken game when they get back. Alot of us new to FL hunters would be mighty grateful.

What WMA did you hunt - what game did you see- and what were you lucky enough to bring home?

As of Nov 28th I've been shut out on deer hunting. I hunt a large open area that adjoins my property, the area runs from Malabar down to Felsmere (about 16 miles long, 5-8 miles wide). This area is just south of Melbourne, FL.

Nice deer habitat, I've seen seven deer (6 does and a spike buck) all within 6' of my ground blind. Most of the deer sign are within a half mile of the house. I'm going to start using a tree stand. I want lots of antlers.

The biggest problem I have is the dirt bikes and ATV's. They can sure ruin a hunt in no time flat. Saturdays are usually a total bust. I wish people weren't such pigs, they leave litter all over the place. A couple of the bikers steered me toward a remote area nearer I-95, said they jumped a couple of nice bucks in that area. We had a nicely adorned buck right off the back porch a few days before the season opened but he hasn't made a second appearance yet.

I'll keep trying. The good thing is - to hunt I just take a walk.

Well, no game for me in FL yet either. Took a button buck in GA earlier this month and spent some time in Green Swamp this past weekend looking for a hog. I saw TONS of sign but alas, no hogs. The moon was super bright this weekend though and the nights were a great temperature, I don't think anything was up feeding during the day.

This Sunday I'll be in Myakka State Forest and next weekend back to Green Swamp...God willling I'll have a hog before this season is out....and some squirrels and dove...and maybe a few ducks, not that I'm trying to be greedy or anything!
