Don't know how many saw the NBC news story last evening on the holding of political rallies at Cabella's stores. Was farily well done in my opinion. One of the things that I found to be of great interest was the commentators analysis of the hunting/fishing customer base (male and female). While my memory is not exact, they said that the agverage customers were, conservative, God fearing, people with midwest values.
Sounded pretty right to me. They even interviewed a very attractive lady who was pro hunting, and did not do the portraying bit of the toothless redneck hunter so often seen portrayed on T.V.

The wrap up statement was something to the effect that hunters have now become the hunted by politicians for their vote. Believe they estimated the voting population among the hunting population to be about 4 million, and they made a statement that it could be a deciding factor in the next election. Was quite supprised that (unless I missed it), they never mentioned the NRA.

If you've noticed, this months issue of F & S and Outdoor Life have stories on Bush and Kerry. The photo op of Kerry trying to portray a hunter was humorous. I'm sure if he is elected that portrayal will flip-flop and anti-gun legislation will begin.

Think you are on track M1Garand. By the way, cut my teeth on a Garand as a young Jarhead back in the far distant past.

You can't judge a politician/candidate these days by anything they say in a speach, and anyone who thinks that you can is an extremely misguided soul.

Look at their voting record to see where they truly stand. Kerry fails in my book, and I'm not overly excited about some of the stuff that the Republicans are doing, either.

HR 10 in the House is pretty scary, and it's being pushed by a lot of RepublicRats. I still support Bush over Kerry, but my support is getting much weaker.

You can't trust any of them, but forced to choose....well, it's just a matter of choosing which one is less dangerous.

Well said, Drifter. My BIG problem with Kerry is, "he's a rat." How in the world could ANY veteran vote for someone who ratted on his fellow combat buddies. He knew exactly what he was doing back in the 70's...all for a political future. I'm not biting. Once a rat, always a rat.

Sounds like Cabella's shined. That's good because I'm making a trip to the new store in Wheeling, WV and plan on spending some money.

Made a visit to Wheeling and spent $200.00. This store seemed a little smaller than the store in Dundee, MI. None the less, a very nice place to shop.

The one in Sidney Ne. is excellent, but I am yet to see anything that will beet the Cabellas store in Kansas City. If you are within 100 miles of the area and call yourself a hunter or sportsman, you owe yourself a detour. Aw, make that 150. Paul
