Alright guys I need a little help and I figured this would be the best place to turn to. I need a manul for my Remington 1100 12ga. Its an older shotgun I got from my father. The bore is very clean, but I can see down in the reciever that its kinda gunked up and needs a good cleaning. Any suggestions on where to look?

If you don't find a copy, here is the basics on how to take apart the Rem. 1100. Remove the barrel by unscrewing the front knob just under the barrel and in front of the forend. The forend will slide off. The barrel will also slide off. This will give you access to cleaning the gas slide area under the forend. The side pins on the reciever will release the trigger assembly once you push them out. Can't recall off hand how to remove the bolt but you can clean most of the shotgun pretty well just at this stage.

I use a spray can of gun solvent to help dislodge most of the crud.
