I am in the process of having a 300 H&H built, do any of you reloaders have a favorite load that you would like to pass on.  It will be used for open field whitetail hunting here in south central PA.  

In a Pre-64 Winchester M70 I once had, I shot a 180g Nosler Partition/74.0g H4831/WLRP/Win Brass/3000+ fps.

It was very accurate and hit hard.   That was many years ago, but I recall that the particular load outshined all others that I tried other than some loaded with Hornady 180g SP bullets, on paper they were great, but that bullet acted like a frag grenade on deer, not even exiting on small Oregon blacktails.   So, I sacraficed that 3/8" grouping ability at 100 yards for the Noslers which shot into 3/4" with this load mentioned... the critters never knew the difference in that 3/8" difference in group size!
