I apologize for the constant barrage of questions, but I am very unschooled when it comes to getting the proper equipment. What I was wondering about now was: what do I need to do to attach a strap to my carbine? What kind of strap should I get. Sources, prices and personal experience with this stuff would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,

Patrick

Patrick.

Uncle Mikes has some fancy sling attachment adapters that fit around the mag tube. My 9422M sports one and I like it alot.

My LSI .454 sports an Uncle Mikes sling that has a simple loop sewn in the forestock end (so as to loop around barrel and mag tube) and a sling swivel in the buttstock end. This was a simple arrangement for me with minimal alteration to the rifle.

I find that much of the time in the bush, I have a small daypack on and keep the rifle slung in a KIFARU gun bearer. This is a very secure yet rapid deployment arrangement that keeps the full weight of the rifle on the pack. I can get the rifle out of the KIFARU Gun Bearer faster than I can get one to shoulder from a sling.

(much more advanced than the peice of parachute cord tied around my .22 for so many years 8*)

So which QD swivels would I need if from Uncle Mike's?

It looks like I'd could use a magnum split band swivel that installs on magazine tube without dismantling gun. The rear just screws into the buttstock. This one is specifically for the Marlin .357 Mag.

Would this one work any differently from one with a full magazine tube band that goes around the magazine tube entirely like the one for Marlin and Winchester centerfire rifles? Would this one even work on my Rossi 92 .357 mag?

Is there any easy way to get that butt stock screw centered and in the right place? It seems easy but I'm not quite sure if I can do that sort of thing...
