Monday is my birthday. Last night, my wife gave me a "new" toy. A genuine WWII 1911 45!! She knows my disdain for paperwork, so she found an older fellow who is getting rid of his guns, and bought this pistol. It is an arsenal rebuild, with a Colt frame and a Remington Rand slide. The barrel was replaced about 100 rounds ago. It shows the normal wear you would expect for any gun of this age. The man obviously loved and took care of this piece. And now it's mine, all mine!!!
ThankGod for understandung wives. When the neighbors get up, I will take it outside and see how it shoots. I don't expect match grade accuracy, I can't shoot that good anyway.
