Looking into a semi-auto either 9mm or .45 with .22LR converstion to save on expense as I learn to handle it.

I notice that Ciener inc. offers converstions for 1911s, Beretta, and Browning.

Any experience or recommendations?

Thanks!

Bob

Have the Ciener conversion in a Colt WWII 1911A1 for the .22 LR.

A nice conversion unit that was easily installed.

Only problem with these conversions is that the recoil spring isn't strong enough to activate the slide for clean ejection unless you use hi-velocity ammo, which isn't the most accurate stuff. Perhaps in time as it gets more use and "laps-in" on the frame, the ejection will work better with standard velocity ammo.

Kimber has a kit that is about the same pricing as the Ciener.

Be sure to get the kit that has the adjustable sights.

Ciener also makes it for the Taurus 92/99 series. There are several other conversions for the M1911, ie Kraft, Wilson and rumored to be Smith & Wesson shortly. I've got an older Colt conversion for my M1911. Slide stop doesn't always engage the follower (followers are abit worn). Always works when fed ammo it likes.

CZ also makes a conversion for the CZ75/85 series. SIG made a .22 conversion for the SIG 210.

CZ-75 full size or compact model; the conversion kit fits either one. I keep my conversion kit on my full size CZ because I like shooting it so much, and have the Compact 9mm.

My shooting buddy has a PT92 conversion. He loves it
