My New Browning A-bolt In 300 Win Mag Keeps Jamming. It Will Take A Shell But 4 Out Of 23 Shots I Was Unable To Open The Bolt To Eject The Shell After Firing. It Will Lift But Not Come Back. You Can Work It And Work It But It Will Not Open....now Here Is The Problem, I Leave On A Bear Hunt In 11 Days And Can't Send It Back To Browning. The Turn Around Is 3 Weeks Or More. It Will Open If You Jam The Bolt Forward Then Back Fast But It Is Hard As ****. Any Advice????

I would try some different ammo first------sounds like what you have is a bit hot for your gun.

I would take another rifle on that bear hunt even if you think you might have the problem solved. I had exactly the same issue with a new Remington. I sent it back three times for repair. After a year, they just replaced the gun. Each time I sent it back they made an honest effort to get it to work correctly. One time it worked for ten rounds when was returned and started acting up again.

Try some different ammo. Sounds like the ammo you're using is too hot for your rifle.
Sticky extraction is a classic sign of excessive chamber pressure. There could be other contributing causes, but it sounds like hot loads.

I Should Have Mentioned...i Used Winchester 180 Gr, Remington 180 Gr And Premium Ammo From Remington. All Factory Loads. I Did Not Use Any Reloads So The Pressure And Being To Hot Should Not Be An Issue But One Never Knows
Try some Federal and Winchester ammo and see it you get the same results. If so - you have a chambering problem that can only be solved by a gunsmith or the factory. A rough chamber will grab the case causing hard extraction.

As I Stated , I Did Use Winchester Ammo. It Figures This Would Happen Right Before The Season

Any luck yet with your problem? Do you have any friends that will loan you a bear-shootin' gun?
