I have an old H&R break top .38S&W with the 3 3/4 barrel, fun to shoot but can't hit the broad side of a barn past ten yards with it. Looking for a good shootable .38 s&w revolver thats got a little longer barrel and better accuracy without spending more than $150. I think H&R had one before they stopped production of pistols some 20 years ago. Any help would be appreciated.

Look for one of the surplus Enfield revolvers. They are in .38 S&W, and all the ones I have handled are good shooters. Most run $150 or so. If you are lucky, you might even find one of the English/Australian surplus S&W M&P revolvers in .38 S&W. The M&P morphed into the model 10, so they are good, solid revolvers. Price is going to be more, though.

I got a Colt Police Positive in .38S&W for under $150 not long ago - it was holster worn but sound and Colt quality. Just keep you eye out and wander the pawn shops.
