Just when I had decided on a M25-13 S&W in .45LC, Blue, alongs come an offer for a M29 Moutain Gun, Blue, .44 mag. Never heard of this one. I though all .44 Mountain Guns were in stainless? Anybody know what year(s) this is from? Any changes from the M29 to the M25-13 that are significant?
Thanks!

Bob,

Swing open the cylinder and look at the model number stamped into the frame. Does it have a lock? The M29-8 MG is blued, was put out in early 2003 and has the internal lock. "Mountain Gun" is laser-etched into the barrel.

I have no clue as to the differences between the 25 and the 29. They are both N-frames, and runs of both were tagged and marketed as mountain guns or mountain backpackers or mountain companions or, or..., as was at least one run in .357 magnum, iirc.
