Has any one tried the Walther P99 and if you have could you state your likes and dislikes. Are the rumors true that it is comming out in 45 ACP? I am looking at it in 40 S&W and am trying to do my reasurch before droping the cash as money for such things is hard to come by, wan't to do it right the first time.
Thanks, Leon

actually, the S&W99 has been out for more than a year now.

I own a German P99 in 40. I truly believe that this is the best modern autoloader I own. In my opinion, much better than Glock, due to a smoother trigger. At 2000 rounds the trigger has smoothed out to about 4lbs on the SA mode. I also own a 357sig barrel made with the help of the guys at waltherforums by Barsto that is drop in and allows me to shoot 357sig at any time.

For the size of this gun, its conceals very well. With the ban gone, 12 round mags are available. 12 rounds of 40 in a 165 or 180 is more than enough firepower to get the job done.

If you buy one, I know you'll like it.

I'm planning to sell or trade my glock 19, so I can purchase the 99 in 9mm also.:D

try this for even more info!!!!

Like many gun owners we are hard to keep satisfied. We buy guns, keep them awhile then sell or trade for another. The P99 is in my gun collection. It is one of a couple I will not consider trading away. With changable front sights and different size backstrap grips, it's got extras others do not. The only thing I had to adjust to was the magazine release lever. As you know it doesn't have the standard button release.
