Gentlemen:
You might want to check out the Ruger Website http://www.ruger-firearms.com/Firearms/News-11-11-2004F.html
Ruger's "New Vaquero" with a smaller frame/cylinder will probably throw a monkey wrench into the future publishing of "heavy" .45 Colt loading data.

Guess I'll be hanging on to my old Vaquero then.
I KNOW it'll handle the heavy loads.

That's the 'old' vaquero, and it's good for the published 30,000CUP loads.

You speak better English than I do Swedish!! :)
Welcome to the board.
I'll dig up my manual and find some .45 Colt loads for you.

The Hodgdon manual is pretty good. Can you get a copy over there? Here's the same data, on-line, for the Blackhawks, but the only powder for the light bullets is Lil'Gun. What can you get?

I'd go with the fastest 240/250gr. hollow-point load you can find, just for entertainment purposes as you describe.

Thanks MikeG
We Have Norma and vihtavouri powder here but i will look after Hogdon. if i can find a load lets say for an example your 240gr with Hogdon LIL 27gr powder and switch the 240 bullit to a 180gr does the preasure go over 29200cup or does it go under it?. Do you understand my wonders? ;-) it is just an example..

Lighter bullet should be less pressure with the same charge weight.
If you have a chronograph, that will help a lot to figure out what is going on, pressure-wise.
