Anyone seen one of the new Weatherby Vanguard Sporters? I saw one the other day at a local gun store. They look really nice - great looking stock with a rosewood tip - and are priced quite a bit less than a BDL or CDL. Plus, they come with a factory-shot target.
Just wondering if anyone else has seen or had experience with these. Looks to me to be a great deal if they shoot well.

Use the search function for Vanguard and you'll get several pages of posts from people that use them.

There isn't anything new about Vanguards or ones with wooded stocks, its just they don't get any press therefore poor distribution.
I have a black polymer stocked Vanguard that I bought at Walmart for the $389. Well balanced functionally perfect in every way and accurate. 150gr sierra prohunter bullet and Varget powder in 3006 produced a 1/2 group for me. Walmart sells then in 270, 7 mag and 300 win mag as well as 3006. They are made by HOWA.
The best value out there in my hunble opinion!

Agree. Mine is a standard wood stocked 270 Win. It has an excellent balance, and after I had some work done to the trigger, has proved to be the most accurate weapon with the largest assortment of bullets.
This rifle is a keeper. I love the action, appriciatte the balance, and tolerate the saftey. A true working rifle.
