I've got an older Rem 700 BDL 7MM MAG. I love this old gun and I have completely revived it from it's neglected state that I found it in. The gun turned out to be a real "shooter".
My one problem with it is the hinged floorplate. I got a little spoiled using a Browning A-bolt with the detachable magazine. I have seen older BDL's with detachable mags on Gunsamerica. Does anyone know how to obtain one for my old BDL?

WELL, never mind. I guess I found my own answer. I called Remington and they say there is no conversion. Oh well!

There is a company called Kwik Clip or something to that effect , alot of gunsmith shops offer this conversion for the 700's call around or look at Brownell's I think you can buy the unit there.

For some reason, I didn't think the Kwik Klip conversion was still available but see they are available at Cabela's for $74.99. That gives you the bottom metal and one magazine. I have two of these and find they work just fine. Ed

I am looking for a detach. mag remington and was told that a company called H.S precision makes stock that will accept mags for the Rem. 700 platform. the new mag, on ther new stock lines up with the same spot as the hinged floor plate on the old stock. I spoke with a rep. and that is what he told me...

Hi Duckbill. I have had 2 Rem. CDLs made into detach clips one of them is a 7mm mag. I order the Rem detach clip system and had it installed. They had to do a little bit of wood work but they both turned out great. The other was a long action as well and it was 270 win. Remington does not make one for the short action rifle also Kwik Klip is okay but think my Remington system is a little smoother.
