I use mec-gars for my sig P226 and they are awesome. Also something to note, mec-gar is sometimes the manufacturer of "factory" mags, with sigs its easy to tell who makes the factory theres a zig-zag on the back and are made in germany, mec-gars are made in italy. I would not hesitate to use mec-gar mags for any gun, I've heard to stay away from pro-mags though.
also they are able to put 2 more rounds in my mags for me (17 instead of 15), they fit flush and drop just fine

Mec-Gar magazines are as good as you will find! This includes "factory". If fact, for Beretta, and some others, Mec-Gar is the factory magazine!

Just stay the heck away from Pro-mag. You likely already know this but the Beretta 92 F 9mm mags are exactly the same as the 96 mags. They work perfectly and you can find 92 FS mags almost everywhere now. The 15 round mags will of course only hold 11 .40s but they work perfectly. Other than to have the mag caliber match your pistol there is no reason at all not to use the 92 mags. Also, CDNN (http://www.cdnninvestments.com/be9611lemafa.html) has a heck of a price on factory Beretta 96 mags going on right now, $20 for used. I got two, one was like new, the other had only about 60% finish and the floor plate had seen better days, but both worked perfectly. They also have new ones for $30.
