Hey, all -
I'm looking to find a holster for my 6.5"-barreled "Raging Bull" which has a short-height scope on it - adds about 2" total to the height of the gun, and keeps width to about 1.5" all the way to the top. I've looked around, and all I can find are models that are molded to fit the gun itself - can't find one that's either generic or open at the top.
This is intended to be a hunting holster, not a conceal (like that gun is going anywhere without notice). My arms are still sore from carrying that thing around all day last Saturday.
Anyone got any tips for me? I'd have bought one from us, but we don't carry stuff that I can tell fits.

Unfortunately there is no picture of this at MidwayUSA, but I use this one for my Ruger .454 and it carries extrememly comfortably. It is just a giant holster on a sling that you carry cross-body style, so the revolver rides under your strong arm with the grip forward. You can also pick them up at most stores like Gander Mountain, (former) Galyan's, etc...

Hi,
Try www.pistolpackaging.com
I bought one of their leather holsters for a scoped Ruger SRH I hunt with. I also got the over the shoulder belt, and the cartridge holder mounted on the belt. It was well made, fits the gun well, and is reasonably priced. I think it was just over $100 for the whole rig.
Good luck.

Success is a journey, not a destination. Why lug a rifle when you can do it all with a pistol!

Hey! That's perfect! They even do custom jobs based on barrel length and scope details, this'll work just dandy!
Thanks for the heads-up, Larry -

Check these out. I have had many holsters for my scoped 7.5inch Super Redhawk Casull and this is the only one that I have found that I can comfortably carry my pistol all day. I carry it and my 45-70 hogging, and without it life would be miserable considering the number of miles that I walk. It is very flexible as to how you wear it as well. Just food for thought. I will never use another holster for mine...when this one wears out, I will replace it with another. Check out my website on the Guns and Hunting page. You are also welcome to email my hunting partner, Lonnie, for his advice...I can guarantee that he will not use another holster. dcsa@airmail.net
Good luck finding what you want.
