I just bought a Kahr PM9 9mm pistol. The gun store said is is a good ccw weapon. If anyone has feedback on it good or bad, please post a reply. Thanks

Gun store is right. This is one of the few smaller pistols that fits my hand comfortably and is high quality. You made a good choice.

I test fired it today and I am pleased on how the little pistol performed. Recoil was manageable and I was able to shoot it quite fast for horsing around. I fired 150 rounds of 115 gn ball, 115 gn Remington JHP's, and Federal hydra shocks with perfect functioning. Accuracy at 25 years was fair, all shot on the paper (8"x11"). The pistol is really not made to shoot 25 yards so never the less I am quite pleased it. Excellent little pistol. :)

I have a Kahr Mk40. It is somewhat on the small side for my large hand, but it has always been 100% reliable and reasonably accurate, at least at the ranges I shoot it. I think it's a gun you can count on when the chips are down!

Reactions to the PM9 have been mixed. Some report excellent results, others have had problems. Kahr seems to have had teething problems with the plastic frames.
I sent a critical letter to Justin Moon of Kahr when the guns were first introduced in 1995. He telephoned me some time afterwards, and we discussed the guns and his design ideas at length. The result was that he sent me three guns: E9, K9 and K40, to test. I found them tough, accurate and smooth-handling. The finish on those first guns was pretty awful, but that has improved with the introduction of stainless. In the course of the testing I got to know the folks at the factory pretty well...a very eager, responsive and smart bunch of people. All my concerns were addressed with speed and perfect satisfaction. I kept all three test guns (BOUGHT them, folks, they don't give them away!) and carry the K9 often. I gave the .40 to a pal who's a Maine bear guide, and the E got sold off...I've recommended Kahr since my early experience with them, but that has been with the 'big' Kahrs. I have reservations about Tupperware guns, and have heard that some personnel turnovers at the Kahr plant have resulted in spotty service, but with those reservations, I still like the Kahr pistols. They STILL aren't better as an everyday carry than a J-frame revolver, in my opinion, but if you like the auto, they are probably the best one around.
