I found out about a 98 Mauser our club president owns and I'm seriously considering buying it, mainly because of the action.
It has all the numbers matching(3319), still has the tiny Nazi "eagle-on-swastika" stamp on the side of the action(if a little worn) and all in all is in good condition.
The barrel however has serious pitting and it's presently in a cut down military stock.
Any help on what year it was manufactured if the number is 3319? The only other letters were the capital "A" and "R" on the reciever.
He's some pics to check it out.
BTW, the price is AUD$120......or US$95 :D

I'd snap it up in a minute! :D

Didn't get a pic of the top of the receiver ring - does that have any info and a date stamp, Kombi?
Normally, the left side of the receiver between the ring and bridge will have some mfg'ing info.

If the action under the wood is not badly pitted, it could be the basis for a nice sporter. as is, it would be a good knock about rifle.
