Does anyone have an opinion on where in the Midwest is a good spot for wild turkeys? A group of us has done some here in MN, but would like to expand to other states.... We'd like to keep it Midwest so we can drive out and keep the travel time and cost to a minimum. Any help is appreciated.

Missouri has a lot of turkeys, and plenty of public land, but that may be a longer drive than you like.
I don't have any real good contact info, but check the Mo department of Conservation for suggested hunting areas, especially in northern Missouri.

Mloschy,
We fill all our tags every year in Iowa. For the last few years we've hunted a farm in Jackson County (outside Maquoketa) and public hunting areas in Jones County.
Many counties are only open to residents, there's a map at:
http://www.iowadnr.com/wildlife/files/trk_nrturkzones.html
The public hunting grounds are listed at:
http://www.iowadnr.com/wildlife/wmamaps/pubhunt.html
There are hundreds of small public hunting areas where the state has purchased old farms of 40 to a few hundred acres. The NWTF has also purchased several thousand acres for hunting.
Good Luck!
