Squirrel Hunters:
Can anyone tell me a good spot in New York State to find fox squirrels? I here there are some in the southwestern counties but I was wondering if anyone could be more specific?
Also, looking for good gray squirrel hunting in New York State. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all and GOOD SHOOTING! :) Range Finder
I live in Erie County and have seen or shot red, gray, black, even albino, but never a fox. From what I understand they are not legal. atleast they wernt a few years ago. But being that I have never seen one it has never been an issue.
ok just looked it up on the web site, I guess you can hunt fox squirrels now!
I have not seen any fox squirrels in NY state.
As far as a good place to hunt grey squirrels......well, I can't think of a place WITHOUT grey squirrels. Anywhere it's safe to use the firearm you choose to use, I think you'll find squirrels- might be reds or greys- or both.

Hi Guy`s,
I live in the South west corner of NY and see a fox every now and then. They seem to be in older stands of woods and in swamps that don`t see many hunters.I get mabe 10 grays to every fox i see.
