hello
wanted to see if im am doing this right this is my first experience with any kind of forum not sure how to post. if it is right i have one question why did marlin choose to limit the oal of the 357 so that a long bullet such as a 185gr wfngc cant be used :rolleyes: thanks rick

Any ammunition within SAAMI COL specs. will work. Gun manufacturers typically cater to use of factory ammunition, not handloads.

That said, so far as I recall the bullet you mention should fall within SAAMI specs. If you really need the gun to feed longer cartridges, the cartridge stop on the carrier can be cut back to allow greater length. The cartridge stop is integral, and can be cut back sometimes as much as 1/8". Don't go any farther than necessary. Ejection of un-fired rounds usually isn't a problem within this range, at least none of the 1894's I have worked on have had a problem in this area.
