it sounds like a Ruger MKI
the only real difference between the MKI and the MKII is the bolt stop of the MKII. the MKII bolt will stay open after the last round of the magazine is fired, while the MKI bolt will not. the MKI bolt is held open by the safety, but the bolt must be manually retracted in order to engage the safety.
the other main difference is the magazines for the MKII hold ten rounds, while the MKI rounds only hold nine. this is no biggie, because the MKII mags can fit the MKI if the magazine button is on the correct side of the magazine for the gun (the magazine button can be easily switched from side to side).
this isn't a problem, (the current 10/22 rifles don't have the bolt hold open feature either), but owners of the MKI pistols should learn to count their rounds as they shoot so they will know when the gun is empty. (without resorting to the unexpected "click of the dry-fire).
i think grips and sights will interchange.
here's a Ruger rimfire autopistol forum to look at if you are interested, http://www.markii.org.

my opinion is the bolt hold open feature is a small thing and will not be missed with proper gun handling.
