hay-all, I'm looking at getting a new .22 pistol ,its for target shooting and taking rabbits.looking at the ruger, beretta, and the browning buckmark but leaning towards the browning because i've herd they have a bit better trigger.I'd appreciate any opinions you might have on these pistols.

also, I do'nt have much experience shooting with sights
besides iron sights. What would you recommend for dusky low lite conditions?
:fiber optics
:standard scope
:holo
:red dot
:laser
:or a combo
price is a factor .Thanks for your help in this matter.

Am lucky enough to have the Ruger and the Browning....and as I don't think you mean my old Beretta 76W, then I don't own a new Beretta (but I'd like an 87).

Can't go worong with the Browning or the Ruger...personally, find the Browning more friendly to my hand, but that's a personal point. Do belive the Ruger (at least the basic all steel version) will be shooting for your grand children with just an occasional spring change (about every generation). Browning might be that durable, only time will tell as I've not shot it as long as the Ruger (about 35years on the Ruger, only about 10 on the Browning).

If you aren't talking about full dark, then if you can see it with your eyes, can shoot it with a Red Dot.

Have the Buckmark, used my Grandfather's Ruger a LOT. :D I loved that pistol! The Buckmark's trigger is eye-opening pretty good.

Check out MidwayUSA.com for aftermarket sights. They have quite a few. Just before full dark, I have had good luck with red dots.

I have both the Buckmark and the bull barreled MKII. Last weekend at the Wasilla gun show I bought a direct replacement fiber optic front sight that fits both pistols. It has six different colors and sizes of optics you can easily put in to suit yourself. It's called HI VIZ sight systems. I installed it on the Buckmark and me and my wife both thought it was a GREAT improvement! hivizsights.com Greg
