So Maybe I'm not catching the vision here... There is the annual Coyote hunt in Warden kicking off soon, you pay $100 bannas a couple to go hunt yotes. Prize for the biggest dog, most dogs, etc... I step out my back door, walk 500 yards and *tadah!!* there are all the coyote's I can handle. The kicker to this who-rah is that I went along for the ride last year with a friend. Most of the people who enter are already from around here!!! WTF? So far this year 147 teams are registered. Maybe it's my Idaho Call-idge talking, but what ever happend to you a friend and a case of beer? When did that turn into You, a Friend, and $100Bucks?

Is this a fund raising event for a group of some kind, private enterprise, or a gov't run program? I'm all for supporting community groups, and especially wildlife conservation groups as well, especially if it promotes or funds wildlife habitat enhancement, better public access to public or private lands, or maybe stocking of game species or perhaps acquisition of lands for public access/wildlife use.
Besides, it sounds like it could be a great event, some friendly competition in eradicating some predators, and get folks off their duffs to actually do something outdoors this time of year, rather than sitting around reminiscing about what they "used to do".
I guess it would depend upon the cause the funds are going towards.
Just my rambling thoughts.
God bless,
Some folks tried to do that here in Arizona a few years back to help thin out the dogs north of Prescott. The bunny huggers got wind of it and raised such a stink in the media that the formal event was cancelled. Think a bunch of varmit hunters went ahead on their own and did the hunt anyway.
