Hi! Where could I get a mould to cast a bullet for a whitworth rifled barrel? the barrel has a hexagonal internal twist and needs a bullet with a hexagonal bearing surface. Calibre is .450

Thomast:
Dixie Gun Works, www.dixiegunworks.com, lists a Whitworth mold under their part # CA8010. This mold is made by an English gunsmith Peter Dyson, and is a work of art that would complement an original rifle in a cased set. It is also expensive.

Consider the Lyman 457121. Cast of appropriate alloy , sized and lubed to provide a slip fit in the bore, they will bump up to hexagonal configuration and shoot very well. Use a felt wad under the bullet.

Dixie listed this mold in last year's catalog, however, I could not find it on their web site. They do list molded hexagonal Whitworth bullets.
I think they have experienced baclk orders and long lead times from their English source.
Try over at www.n-ssa.org thay shoot that stuff for fun. I think they have a list of suppliers.
www.jcunard.com would be worth a try.
