Yeah....a lever gun with more punch than the 458 Winchester Magnum.

Anyone have any experience with one of these rifles?

I guess it would be a bit much gun for smallish whitetails here in Missouri...but it sure would be a nice conversation piece.

In Alaska with the threat of the big brown bears....my guess is that having more than enough gun is preferred then coming a bit short.

Whitetail deer don't bite back...but bear do.

Tell me about the big 450.

More punch than a 458 Win Mag? The data I have for the 450 Alaskan show its velocity around 250-300 fps less than the comparable bullet out of the 458 Win. At least for the M71 loads.
