Just bought a Marlin 450 and it thumps the target but i'm shooting two inches high, which way do I adjust the rear ramp on the semi buckhorn sights. Don't want to waste $40 in ammo just to sight in iron sights.

Two inches high at what range? Is the rear sight already all the way down? What is the distance between the front and rear sights?

If the two inches high is not desired at what ever particular range it is, lower the rear sight to lower bullet impact.

2 inches high at 30 yards but Guide says shots will be 30 or less.

I wouldn't worry about it. A bear is a big target. At 30 yards, you could probably look down the side of the barrel and still hit one. Next time you head to the range to practice, drop the rear sight one notch and see what it does. You can always move it back, if it's too low.

I'd personally sight it in for at least 100; that should be about dead-on at 25 or 30 anyway. Never know when you'll need a longer shot and you will want to be assured that you know where the bullets will hit at longer range.

Hope you get a big'un.
