I just ordered two lyman double cavity molds. I have a lyman maxi-ball mold with large handles. It has been suggested the older lyman handles will not fit new single or double molds. Is this true?? Is there any modification to the large RCBS handle that will get it to work with the lyman molds? I just got back from a gun show in Tulsa, OK where I saw used handles for more than what Midway charges. I sure wouldn't like ordering new handles. Everything costs these days.

IIRC, the small Lyman handles for their old single cavity moulds don't fit new single cavity moulds. they're using double cavity handles on both single and doubles now. I think the double cavity handles will fit all Lyman double cavity moulds, once you're past the permanet handle era.

Lyman and RCBS handles can be used interchangeably on the large 2 cavity blocks. Even the Lyman "small" handles I have recently gotten won't work with older single cavity moulds.
