I am using a .715 rb mold from lyman. The balls I cast have a slight seam line where the mold-halves fit together. Is this normal or do I have to try to adjust the mold alignment pins a touch? The directions that came with the mold don't address this, but in the RCBS cast bullet handbook, they talk about driving the pins out to adjust the mold alignment. There are no whiskers on the seam line, only a slight line around the circumference of the ball. Thanks in advance. Tom

Driving in the pns would help alignment, but if the seem is even, then it's not alignment. May just need to squcisah the handles a little tighter...or to have the pins seat themselves in ther holes...or check of any tiny little burr or bugger than keeps them from closing all the way.

It's normal to have a visible line...but not one that is raised enough to catch a finger nail on.

Old Lyman manuals would recomend placeing the ball back in teh mold (after eveything is cooled down) with the seam line rotated off it's original placment, anc closing the mold on the ball to swage the imperfection out a bit.
