I see that Beartooth's .38-55 bullet has a fairly small meplat. It seems to me the .28" flat of the .357's could have been used here. Having the same weight as the classic Keith bullet for the .44's, I imagine the larger meplat could make the .38-55 as effective on game while offering a bit better long range potential. I wonder, though, if the small meplat was chosen for some reason such as stability in flight, or the like.
