I have a situation where I traded some work for a couple of rifles one is a ruger M77 MK II in 308 and the other is a Charles Daly in .243. I am familiar with the Ruger but I have not been able to find anyone that has some real experience with the Charles Daly rifles. I am really hoping that someone has some first hand experience with one.

They are rather new, coming out of the Zastava plant in the former Yugoslavia. Zastava had to do some reconstruction after the turmoil there (I think Clinton bombed them) as well as get new import approval. The rifle is essentially the same as the previously available Interarms Mark X rifles, also made by Zastava. They are definitely of solid design and construction if not a little rough. Nothing a trip to a good gunsmith can't fix.
