I haven't heard of it. There's a .244 Holland&Holland on the full-sized magnum case.

Not sure if the 240 H&H is the same as Jack mentioned, but it was also called the 240 Apex. It was the 375 H&H case shortened to 2.5" and necked down.

i belive the 223 holland was made by darrel holland gunsmith of holland guns.anybody outthere that has one? looking for good fireform loads 40 or 50 gr. loads.it is similer to the 223 ack imp. with less body taper.supposed to cycle better in a repeater mode.THANKS

That explains it. Sorry we got it mixed up with the H&H cartridges. Darrell Holland has his own website and is probably your best bet.

We had a little mix-up between Darrell Holland and Messers Holland & Holland. That's not the first time this happened.

I had to jog my memory on the .240 Apex. It's based on a smaller belted case than the .375 H&H, the .400/375 H&H. This is the original belted case, with a .473 belt and .450" base. H&H also had a rimmed version for double rifles. The .240 is very close to the much later .240 Weatherby in dimensions. The .244 H&H uses the .375 H&H case, of 2.78" length.
