Anyone having any luck bagging WV coyotes?
Bill C.
I've heard of at least 3 killed within 15 minutes of downtown Clarksburg... A guy was telling me about a pack that lives around Melitus. I think that pack also travels to the Buffalo Lake area - over a couple ridges.
Have a picture of one shot at Buffalo Lake.
Coyote running cattle + high-powered deer rifle = mangled coyote...
DNR officer at Pleasants Creek said to set up electronic call. Have one guy set up with a rifle. Have another guy set up with a shotgun. He said the guy with the shotgun better stay ready, because if you see a coyote, it won't be very far away. He also said to call for 20 minutes, and if you don't see anything to find another spot and try again...

From what I hear they are becoming quite the problem here in the Weston and surrounding area. Everytime I stop into the local gunshop someones always looking for a coyote rifle. I need to double check the zero on my rifle and then I'm going looking for hunting grounds. Intriqued to see what a 535gr soft lead slug will do to a yote.

Back 20 years ago when I lived in Mt. Storm WV you never seen any coyotes, I still deer hunt there every year, now the coyotes are everywhere, since my relatives still live there I keep a steer on there farm every year but the coyotes never bother them, I am going to try my luck with my new Taurus Tracker 17 and see if I can bag one, I just purchased my 2005 WV non-resident license yesterday on-line.

What kind of rifle do you have?
I picture just a cloud of fur... :D
My uncle reccommended just catching one and sticking it in a blender.
